We talk honestly about peptides, GLP-1s, menopause, and the messy trial-and-error of trying to feel like ourselves again. We share what’s helped our energy, inflammation, Hashimoto’s symptoms, and quality of life while staying clear that we’re not giving medical advice.
• why peptides are trending and why we’re willing to test them
• inflammation as the thread connecting weight, hormones, and chronic disease risk
• our personal GLP-1 experiences and the difference between weight loss and feeling better
• using research, blood work, and real medical guidance instead of guessing
• why lab ranges and treatment approaches vary across doctors and countries
• thyroid support, compound pharmacies, and moving beyond one-pill fixes
• carnivore and other diet approaches as a personalization issue, not a purity test
• cognitive health fears and why sugar and metabolic health keep coming up
• the downside of mixing peptides too fast and why tracking matters
• medication overload in seniors and why fewer meds can sometimes mean better function
If you guys use certain peptides or have questions, let us know.

Just three women with big personalities, bold stories, and a habit of saying the quiet parts out loud. So grab your drink, brace yourself, and join us. Because the group chat didn't just spill the tea, it went live.

Peptides, Menopause, And Weight Loss

Adrianne

Minipause said surprise, and peptides said hold my collagen. Today we're gonna talk about weight loss, menopause, how many protein we need, exercise. I don't know. There's so many things. And I feel like the three of us are I don't want to call us guinea pigs. That's exactly what I was thinking. That's the exact word I was thinking. But I feel like we like to dabble and try things. And if one tries it, the others get it. And we don't know why we want to take it, but we take it because we just trust that we all are similar. Yes. And there's so much talk about peptides right now that I thought, why not just we'll just talk about life? Yeah. What we've been doing for off and on for years.

Leanna

I feel like I anytime I see a reel that says that either my hair's gonna look thicker or my skin's gonna look firmer or my abs are gonna magically appear overnight. I will be like, buy. Buy now, order now. I know I think we started peptides. I started peptides a while ago. I think all the weight loss, the GLP ones are a peptide, right? So I've probably been dabbling in peptides for three, two and a half, three years now, before I think it was a thing. And then yeah, I think everyone's saying that peptides are what's gonna make us feel most like ourselves, the best versions of ourselves.

Kerri Ann

And well, the peptides get to the cellular level. Cellular. That's what they do. I mean, if you research them, you'll see they truly get to the cellular level. And each peptide has a different function of what it does. I mean, I know a big thing for me is the inflammation thing. Yeah, and because I just know from my life and also with my seniors, like sickness lives in inflammation. And we don't like inflammation because it makes us fluffy and all the things that are not pretty or feel good, but it also is where disease lives. So then how do you get rid of that inflammation? And truth be told, like I am, I, you know, we've talked about the vitamins and the minerals, and I love that. And I still do pop in, you know, vitamins and those kind of things, but the amount that I was taking because I was trying to get all those parts and pieces, there is a lot that you can combine and address with peptides.

Safety Talk, Blood Work, Doctors

Leanna

Yeah. And I think I feel like we should say, I don't know, I'm not the lawyer of the group, but I'm always the one that's got like the disclaimer. This is not medical advice by any means. We're not saying you should, we're not saying you shouldn't. We are just simply sharing what we are choosing to do. And if I'm being honest, we change our minds quite a bit sometimes. We're like, we're gonna try this, and then we're like, oh no, that didn't work. Okay, we're gonna try this. And or this did work, and then Yeah.

Kerri Ann

Well, and also too, we we do our research, we do our blood work, we get medical advice. We I mean, it isn't like we're just out there standing on the corner and some guys like, hey, I got an inflammation peptide. Like it. And then we're not doing

GLP-1s, Hashimoto’s, And Inflammation

Kerri Ann

that.

Adrianne

And I just think there's such a var I think the good thing now coming out is there's such a variety of, you know, whatever your ailments are of how a peptide could work or not work. Absolutely. And um, like I was when I got started on them, I mean, I always gain weight with hormones. And so it would be, you know, I guess when I was in my teens, I was heavy because of hormones. And then I lost the weight. And then when I did all the in vitro, I gained a ton of weight. And then I did the weight loss pills and like a weight loss doctor and stuff. And then then weight started to come back on with menopause. And and I can't, I say I can't. Terry does not like me on weight loss pills because I'm not a nice person. It makes me mean. Um, and so he's like, uh, I'd rather you not lose the weight and not take those pills. But what so when the GLP1s and stuff came along, I originally went on it because my numbers were getting high, my like the pre-diabetic. And then I was diagnosed with the Hashimoto's and like all this stuff was going crazy. And so when a doctor was like, I think you should try this, and back then it was like actually through the doctor and insurance, the shot or whatever, which did work, it helped me lose weight, and but then I lost the weight, and then insurance was like, Okay, nope, now you're good. Yeah, but it did so much for the Hashimoto's that anytime I go off it, I feel like I'm an 80-year-old lady, and then when I'm on it, I feel so I feel like I will always be on a maintenance just because uh it's that makes such a difference on inflammation.

Medical Mistrust And Dementia Fears

Kerri Ann

I agree, and I think that if anybody looks out of the United States into the medical arena in different countries and how they address, you know, hormonal issues, even cancer, like all of the things and the way that they address it is so dramatically different than in the United States. And, you know, like just even the the scale of blood work of numbers, like you'll have different doctors telling you different things. Like I can't tell you how many times I've talked to people about because I have a heart issue, and you know, the fact that I cannot get away from a doctor that doesn't want me on, and I just lost the word of it. A statin. A statin. And and I am so dead set against that. And when you go to non-traditional doctors, and there are some doctors that are traditional that really lean into that, they'll be real with you about what all these medicines are and the threshold of what they give you. Even like with us with our Hashimoto's, like I got so done with, you know, the regular medicine and moved to a compound pharmacy where they really can work through, you know, T3, T4, addressing all the parts and pieces that your thyroid does, not just here's one pill, and that's gonna fix it. And then what fixes it even more is if it's bad, then they just up it, up it, up it, and it doesn't fix it.

Leanna

Yeah.

Kerri Ann

So I do think that when you are researching the ways that you feel and looking at things like peptides and GLPs and what that what that truly is, look outside of the United States for research because we are so much well, it let less now. I think we're getting more and more people that are seeing that it's the research is coming out in the United States too. But I mean, I always look and a big thing for us and a big thing in my industry is the fear of dementia and Alzheimer's and cognitive impairment. And, you know, no matter how many times you tell people this is not genetic, but there's genetic predispositions for it, and how do you health-wise address it, you know, that's when you will lean into inflammation and diabetes and sugar throughout the body and potentially the peptides and all of that to combat it, but it's an industry that is multi-million with medications and services, and it's just it's really different. And that's where, like, yeah, we're always looking at what the new, what is the new thing to help us that potentially isn't shoving another prescription medication right down you down your throat.

Adrianne

Well, and I was reading somewhere they were talking about on one of the GLP ones about that it is helping reduce dementia, and there's signs that and there's and cancer. They had patients that uh were in different stages of cancer and it being reduced down based on that. And I feel like the cool thing right now, peptides, I mean I we're probably gonna get some hate because people are all like, oh, you don't need those. And but I really and that's fine. People can send all the hate they want. But I think the cool thing on peptides right now, and I think the exposure it's getting is uh like there's a sheet, I was trying to find it, but I can't find it. But I want to say there was like 12 different types of peptides, and each one of like what it can help you with. You know, it's not like one pill now. If there's it can be so tailored to what you need or what you're looking to improve on, and you can play around with that. And some of them work, like I was on semi-glutide, I think, in the beginning, and I helped but I lost weight, but then it made me I didn't feel great. And then I did the tries, and then that one, that one worked too, but I, you know, but then that one, I don't know. I got off that one. But those there's always so many different new things to see what works best for your body. Yeah. And that's the part I think for people who are anti-it or curious about it is like research the long term, what they're saying these are going to do or how they're gonna do it.

Carnivore, Personal Fit, Peptide Basics

Kerri Ann

Well, you guys know I was carnivore for about two and a half years. And truly it was, I will tell you, the best I ever felt. And I was healthy, but anybody that found out that I was carnivore and what I was eating was like absolutely you're gonna die. You're killing yourself. Like you're killing your heart, you're killing everything about like how like the amount of information that people would throw at me because they heard what I would eat each day was insane. And it was kind of funny because ultimately, when people are diagnosed with cancer, they're put on a special diet. And that diet is low sugar, high protein, high fat. And that's basically a carnivore-ish diet because they need to get the inflammation down. And the same with when you look at Alzheimer's and dementia, you know, like are those crystals and all that stuff in the brain, what is that? Is it sugar? Is it diabetes? Is it what is it? But our brains live on fat, they love fat. Our brain loves fat. So I do think when it comes to you know, cognitive health, inflammation, like all the things that just make like we have Hashimoto's, like that has to be treated specifically, but it does impact everything else in our bodies. So there's just a lot of different things that people are, I don't know if they're like afraid of it because they have just heard their whole lives you're not supposed to eat a lot of red meat or fat or this or that. And I would tell people, anytime I eat vegetables, I get sick. I don't want to eat vegetables. Like, that's not good for me. It may be good for you, but it's not good for me.

Leanna

That's the thing I don't understand. Like, honestly, carnivore, you felt great doing it. Someone else might feel great being a vegetarian or a vegan, whatever that is, right? Or if peptides made us feel like the best version of ourselves, why does anyone really care enough to hate on it? Like you said, we get hate. Okay, fine, whatever, right? But if I feel the best that I felt in years, if I've got the energy, if I've got like I was super excited, my hair's growing. You know what I mean? Whatever that is. I think the only thing I don't love about peptides is that you can't you can mix them, like take them at the same time. Yeah, but they're all individual shots. That I don't I don't love doing three shots at once or two or whatever.

Adrianne

Yeah. I suppose which we probably could ask. I would call him the peptide guy. We probably could ask the peptide guy. I know, that's exactly okay. But I am because I had seen a video where certain peptides, though, you can mix them into one shot, that they're okay to be blended into one really like that G-H-K-C-U, yes, and there is one, there is a peptide that combines all of that together. Yeah, or you can that, but they're or they're okay to be mixed together. I just I'm not that tactic. Yeah. I'm just trying to make sure I get the right way to do that.

Kerri Ann

Well, and also too, like we're not at the beginning of peptide journey. So we're kind of trying to see, which I do think people need to do, is like you need to take it and see how you feel before you start mixing and matching and you know, asking doctors and things about that. So, but once you feel good on it, then yeah, you're like, okay, all of this feels good. I'm not having a reaction. Is there something that puts it all together?

Leanna

Yeah, yeah.

Kerri Ann

Because then you can't pull apart if you mix it and you can't tell.

Leanna

Yeah. I love art. My doctor, I think your doctor too, but because he is traditional medicine, but we had a very honest conversation about peptides. You know, he's like, I don't prescribe them, I don't, but I don't see a problem with them. Right. And have a conversation. This is what I'm thinking of taking. And, you know, okay, well, this is what you look for, or this is what you, you know, might notice or something. And I love the fact that he was open about the fact that laws are changing and they're gonna make it more accessible so that there are benefits. Why why hold off on them? Yeah.

Adrianne

I agree. I agree. I agree with that. And I think like you said, I'm feeling good. I mean, I feel like I I'm probably the healthiest I've been and I don't even know how long. And just like hormones on par, you know, weight doing well, energy well, all of those that I feel like sleeping well. Yeah, like anyone could could judge, but if if you're off on any of those or like off on all, I was off on all of it. Yeah. And when you wake up every day feeling like you're 80 and you're exhausted and and you're tired and you're overweight, like that's not a good quality of life. And then when you find the right mix and you feel good.

Medication Overload, Red Light, Wrap

Kerri Ann

And I understand that, but you know, you're leaning into some alternatives that are not necessarily, you know, traditional medicine things, you know, like the red light therapies and what that does, the cold plunge and what that does for inflammation. So, you know, everybody's threshold of what their tolerance level is, but I think once you start, like once one I started carnivore, and then I really got into carnivore, and once I started following doctors that also did carnivore, and you know, there's a famous cardiologist that has been carnivore for like 20 years, and that guy is ripped, and he is healthy, and his kids are a carnivore, and everybody's alive, and you know, nobody's fallen over. Once you start doing that and you really, really, truly research and look, you see the benefits of all these different things. So, you know, I I just think I go into so many houses with my seniors, and the amount of pharmaceutical meds that some of my seniors is on is insane. And what's really crazy is that in my hospice career, when we would go in and when somebody would come onto hospice with us, then their medications became what we would do. And then it had to follow our formulary that was allowed by Medicare, which many times would take away 80% of their meds. Really? And I would tell you, once we did that, you would not believe the improvement that many of them had. I'm not negating that they because people can be very environmentally hospice appropriate, especially seniors that have different medical issues. But historically, we would we all you know, they'd have specific meds that were on the formulary, they'd be taking them, and all of a sudden you'd see a different human.

Voice Over

Wow.

Kerri Ann

And you look and you've got a 90-pound little old lady who's choking down a dozen and a half pills, and everybody's like, why isn't she hungry? Well, she's not. But the medications a lot of times will make people sick. So all of this stuff, no matter, you know, hormones, menopause, you know, just trying, because I do think people our age are really, really hyper aware of aging because I think our parents and grandparents were impacted by cancer and Alzheimer's and dementia at such a greater rate that we're the age group that's like, oh hell no. And I'm really glad that we figure this out.

Leanna

Yeah. And I'm glad that we are being so proactive and I think a lot more vocal. I think the generation before us, like we've talked about it, people are like, you just get through it. You keep your mouth shut and you just it's life sucks and you move through it. And I think we're having conversations like, hey, I'm taking this. What are you taking? Okay, this works for you. Let me try it. Okay, it didn't work for me, but this worked. And having those open conversations without judgment in hopes of living our best life. Cause yeah, that's exactly it. Three years ago, I didn't have my hormones checked. I, you know, I wasn't sleeping, I was gaining weight, or I was working out, eating right, not losing weight. I just felt exhausted. When you wake up after sleeping for 10 hours and you're still equally exhausted, like stuff just wasn't right. And figuring out what that balance is, that balance for me looks very different than for someone else. But if someone else can figure out what their balance is to feel their best, that's really, I think, all that should really matter.

Adrianne

I I agree. I just think I don't know, I think I'm at an age, I don't care what anybody thinks. However, I feel and if I'm good, yeah, then I'm good. Uh that and there are so many things, like we were just talking about, like, you know, uh, you guys drink in the collagen, and uh I do call I do the collagen chews. And and then on the red light therapy, I just bought the wand. So we'll see how it does on wrinkles because it's supposed to help reduce wrinkles on the wand. So I'll let you guys know. Yeah. Yeah.

Kerri Ann

Red light therapy is great for you.

Adrianne

Yeah, that's what they say. I'm telling you. I mean, I bought the tool, so and now we'll see if it works.

Kerri Ann

Now we have what? Did you send us the link?

Adrianne

No, I didn't send you the link because I'm beta testing it before I send it to you. I see like does it. Why?

Kerri Ann

So you'll look glowy and then we're gonna look old.

Leanna

Okay, show up. I was as tan as you are right now, you need to stop.

Kerri Ann

It's from the beach, and I have gray hair. It does not it is, it's from my gray hair. When it all is gray, I'm gonna look so fabulous.

Leanna

Okay, I'm gonna tell you right now, your arms also look tan, and I don't see anything gray near your arms. You look stunning.

Kerri Ann

Because we were at the beach. I know. You know, when I go to the beach, I'm just like, I don't care about you all. My am sitting right here at the edge of the water, and that's where I'm gonna be all day long.

Leanna

Sounds amazing. I know.

unknown

I love it.

Kerri Ann

Okay, so is that all did we do?

Adrianne

I think that's it. I don't think there's anything else to talk about it. If you guys use certain peptides or have questions, let us know. Yep.
